Arabinogalactan, <i>Bifidobacterium longum</i>, and <i>Faecalibacterium prausnitzii</i> improve insulin resistance in high‐fat diet‐induced C57BL/6J mice

Abstract The occurrence and development of insulin resistance (IR) are usually related to the change gut microbiota. Our previous study showed that arabinogalactan (AG) could selectively increase relative abundance Bifidobacterium longum Faecalibacterium prausnitzii in vitro fermentation. However, their effect on IR remains unclear. In current study, we investigated effects AG, B. longum, F. combinations insulin‐resistant mice. Intake AG those two strains reduced body weight, fat accumulation, homeostasis model assessment mice with IR, decreased level serum glucose, insulin, lipids. Meanwhile, they alleviate injury liver. Moreover, , regulated production short‐chain fatty acids elevated probiotics such as Lactobacillus, Lactococcus . giving only or a single strain was weaker than combination attempted find new way prevent type 2 diabetes early stage provided evidence for therapy against prebiotics bacterial origin.
